Airport Security COVID-19 Recommendations Miss the Mark as Variant Surges

Cleveland.com -- With the COVID-19 delta variant spreading and air travel surging, a perfect public health storm is brewing at airport security checkpoints. To date, more than 8,000 transportation security officers have tested positive for COVID-19, with 16 deaths, out of around 45.000 TSOs. From a nadir of 87,000 airport security screenings back on April 13, 2020, people have returned to air travel in droves, with several recent days topping 2 million screenings.
